Trenton Mobile Veterinary Service was founded in the early 1990s by Dr. Ron Trenton of Acton, Ontario.  Dr. Trenton practiced veterinary medicine for 35 years in Halton Hills and surrounding area.  Dr. Trenton began his own clinic in Acton but also made farm calls.  On these calls he quickly saw how the animals were more comfortable and at ease in their familiar surroundings.  As well he was able to gain more information about his patients by observing them in their own environment.  In 1991 he decided to create Dr. Trenton Mobile Veterinary Service so that he could provide care to the animals he loved so much in the comfort of their own home.
 
Dr. Trenton began mentoring Dr. Christina Swainson (his future daughter-in-law) early on prior to her admission to the Ontario Veterinary College.  She worked as his veterinary assistant.  During this summer employment Dr. Trenton taught Christina all the aspects of veterinary medicine unable to be learnt from text books – compassion, care and the joy of taking the time to get to know and build relationships with clients.

After graduation Dr. Swainson -Trenton worked part time with Dr. Trenton as well as in a clinic environment.  She continued to learn from Dr. Trenton as a newly graduated veterinarian.  
 
Sadly, after several years of working together, Dr. Trenton passed away suddenly in the summer of 2012.  Dr. Trenton’s caring nature and genuine concern for the well being of animals and their owners was always respected and appreciated by his clients.  Fortunately these attributes have been passed on to Dr. Christina, Sarah, and the rest of the team at Trenton Mobile Veterinary Service, and we continue to practice these values today.
